Job Description

Job Title - Cryptographic Engineer Location - Middlesex Salary - Up to £44k Job Role - A Cryptographic Engineer is required with experience of the entire crypto development life cycle to assist in the development of cryptographic products within the Information Assurance (IA) business sector. The Crypto Engineer will present technical material both internally and to the customer, provide specification of interface control documents for encryption devices, specification of detailed system, software and hardware requirements and maintain high level design and documentation quality standards, to develop within a team, architectures and methods for implementing cryptography. The Crypto Engineer will technical liaise with in-house subject matter experts together with third party suppliers and provide end to end testing of the complete encryption systems. Skills Required - Must be able to gain MoD security clearance to a high level, extensive experience of cryptographic engineering, knowledge in the implementation and design of cryptographic techniques, first-class analytical, design and problem solving skills of cryptographic products, understanding of Key Management techniques and policies, knowledge of algorithm types and operating modes, understanding of CESG processes and standards including IM 36, IM 39, IS4. Understanding and design of equipment to TEMPEST specifications, experience/understanding of MIL-STD-1553B communication, system/circuit design analysis, debugging and BIT implementation, Ethernet protocols, serial communication interfaces including RS232 and 422, industrial experience required of multi-threaded applications programming under Windows and Linux in high-level languages (C/C++ required), Microsoft Office tools.
