Job Description

We are currently looking for a talented Senior Planning Engineer to join a large rail client based in London.

The Role As a senior member of the Planning team you will carry out Project Planning activities as detailed below. You will take a proactive role in advising others of issues actions and risks associated with the planning process. You will be responsible for promoting planning within the Company and mentor junior members of the department.

Key responsibilities To develop and maintain fully base-lined resource loaded and logic linked project programmes in accordance with the clients Project Management and planning processes. To update and maintain activities of the project programme liaising with the clients personnel as and when required to ensure that the activities are properly planned in the programme and progress is properly recorded. Initiate and maintain close Liaison with client representatives on programme issues. Work with Project Managers and project team to ensure project programmes are maintained. Provide periodical reports on project status. Initiate implement and maintain project monitoring processes. Highlight problem areas and issues and suggest remedial action. Implement Risk Analysis on project and possession programmes as appropriate. Promote planning within the company developing initiatives to meet changing company requirements.

The Candidate Essential Requirements Degree HND HNC level or relevant experience. A minimum of five years experience in Project Planning Project delivery experience preferably in the Rail Industry. PC literate with experience in the use of Windows packages Word Excel etc. Excellent working knowledge of Primavera P3e. Self motivated with sound interpersonal skills coupled with an assertive style of behaviour. Good attention to detail. Good time management. Good analytical skills Good management skills Good presentation skills.

Desirable Requirements Rail Industry experience. Engineering background. Experience of Microsoft Project.
