Job description Role Title: Graduate Energy Manager Part Time/Full Time: Full Time Proposed Start Date: ASAP Accountable to: Director of Energy Region: London Commercial Terms/Rate: Negotiable

Overall purpose of the role You will be responsible for improving the energy efficiency of existing and potential clients.

The role You will be required to act as an agent of change within their organisation, coordinating all aspects of energy management, from energy efficiency and reduction of carbon dioxide emissions to waste management and sustainable development by: * identifying, developing and implementing plans to deliver energy reduction opportunities * deriving solutions for carbon management * raising the profile of energy conservation

Responsibilities The successful candidate will be responsible for: * developing, coordinating, and implementing the aims and objectives of strategies and policies to reduce energy consumption, eg EU directives on energy performance and emissions, and monitoring and reviewing the effectiveness of these policies and strategies,including coordinating annual progress reports * devising policies and systems for buying energy and helping with contract negotiation * providing technical and practical advice and offering training on energy efficiency * developing promotional activities and materials to publicise particular schemes * contributing to sustainable development initiatives * ensuring accurate records are maintained and energy monitoring data is collected regularly * preparing specifications, drawings and tender documents for building services, improvement or plant replacement work, including obtaining statutory approvals * liaising with and providing technical support to mechanical/electrical design engineers on new and refurbishment projects regarding sustainability, energy and water conservation * carrying out site inspections and energy surveys * preparing detailed schedules of work/feasibility studies and cost estimates * benchmarking energy consumptions against best practice guidelines * organising events and workshops * compiling reports to strict deadlines

Education, qualifications & training Education * Electrical/Mechanical Engineering Post Grad, degree or equivalent ( ESSENTIAL) BEng, MEng * Knowledge of the principal techniques and technologies which support efficient use of energy in buildings * Understanding of Projectmanagement/Energy management/surveying * Understanding the principles behind electrical, Mechanical, HVAC, Refrigeration, Boilers

Skills and abilities * Excellent communications kills * Self motivated & self directed * Ability to prioritise workload * Ability to work on own initiative
